So the U.S. is giving aid to the Pakistan flooding.
We have been a major support compared to the "aid" of all of the other nations.
And, yeah, I understand. Our predicament is a double edged sword. Or maybe a triple edged.
1.) Obviously, we're in debt. A lot of debt. $10 trillion in debt. You didn't know that? Now you know.
2.) We're helping now. Yay! America is so nice! But we're $10 TRILLION IN DEBT! How is this rational?
3.) If we didn't help, we'd be seen as douchebags.
a. I doubt trade with the U.S. would drop. If it did, it would be for an incredibly stupid reason. ("We're not going to trade with you because you didn't help the Pakistanis!") Actually, if the Pakistani gov't didn't trade with us, and we didn't help them, that would make sense. But, in turn, that would be a d-bag move.
Honestly... I don't think, in our current state, we should be helping Pakistan right now. Near-isolationist policies seem best.
Or maybe we should just jog Obama's memory that his current duty is to the United States, who, let's face it, isn't in that good of a condition.
But, we still are helping Pakistan. And everything seems to be going alright. So... I hate the cliché, but "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Then again, the U.S. gov't should be looking to helping out the states who are in debt. But they should first get themselves out of debt. And the states themselves shouldn't be spending all of this money on needless shit.
It's a cycle. And the obvious group to blame is the citizens. After all, we're the one who elected these idiots to control us in the first place, right?
But many fail to realize that human beings are cruel. Many still believe that we have good in us. That we're inherently good.
If that's the case, how come we have NEVER had an uncorrupt politician?

Forthwith, I Condemn Thee
Let me begin with a simple "story" that I wrote yesterday in my abject boredom.
A demon was once asked by an angel, "Why do you turn your back on the gates of Heaven?"
The demon responded, "Because I choose liberty over salvation." The demon gestured in the night towards a field of grass and hills, disturbed by nothing but the wind and the presences of the two Ephemeral. "This is what I choose."
Yea, it's pretty random, but then again, boredom makes people do random things. Actually, that was written during one of my "freedom" moods, when I realized why I had done some of the things that I had done in the past. Of course, most, if not all, of these actions were condemned, mostly because they went across this "line" that I was supposedly supposed to have a vast knowledge of, though I had virtually no knowledge of it. Take for example my religion (now denounced).
It began during the elections that so recently finished. When I asked my parents about how they were voting, they responded liberally for the most part, but when it came to the questions about the social propositions, they reared their heads and shouted out in glory that they were social conservatives. They didn't actually "cry out," rather simply gave conservative answers to those questions, so I took them to be social conservatives, which I did not know about before. The problem came mostly from Prop 8, which was an initiative bill to nullify all homosexual marriages; in other words, gay marriages would be shunned within the state and the state would not look upon these relationships as "legal." I asked them why they had voted that way, and they responded in many ways, until finally I squeezed out of them that religion demanded that they vote that way. As soon as I heard this, my entire perception of religion was shattered. I became a pessimist towards religion as well and began to shun the religious practices that I had been immersed in for so long, though Prop 8 was not the only reason (lotsa other stuff went into this too, but Prop 8 was the last straw).
Previously, I had thought that my religion actually promoted free thinking and the reign of "hogwash" ideologies that many other religions condemned. I now think differently. My religion is much like the others, it's just that it hides its true face under a facade that I had not previously encountered, ergo was not able to brush aside.
Anyway, the point of this entire story is that liberty, which we "free" Americans so proudly claim to promote in our country is a lie. I shouldn't limit it to only America, since the story dealt with religion. Here's a rephrasing of it: The liberty which we free and tolerant peoples claim so proudly to uphold is a lie. What we see as liberty is actually just another facade. I'll try to limit this to what I know best about, that is, American idealism.
Robert Ickes said in 1941 that we Americans have lost our vaunted idealism, and sadly, that statement rings true even today, probably more than it did in 1941. I mean, I agree that we need security in order to keep the "nation" together, but it has come today to a point in which our liberties are so limited and few in number that they don't really count as liberties. They count more as "privileges of life." Now, I say "privileges" partly because our Bill of Rights "holds these truths to be self-evident...blah blah blah...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," and that's why we're given the rights in there. Well, the Supreme Court ruled during the World War I era in the infamous Schenck vs. US case that the government has the constitutional right to limit our liberties. What does that mean, ladies and gentlemen? It means that we're not as free as we're told. Go figure.
Now, I'm not proposing a complete breakdown of social structure and the like and a complete return to a state of nature and possible anarchy, but what I am saying is that all of these rules and regulations and limitations that we have put on our ability as humans to think freely and let our imaginations run wild are just plain full of the beginnings of mental imperialism. For more info on this, go look up Ghost in the Shell, where it's a futuristic world where everyone has these computer chips installed into their heads so that they have instant access to internet and the like (I know you want that), but in exchange have given up their freedom from the moment they are born to an ulterior motive. I hope that wasn't a spoiler of any sort. Just a short synopsis of the beginnings of the storyline.
Another thing. For this, please refer to my "An Ironic Revelation" post in my original blog. The link is on the right side of this page. What you should get from this about liberties is that in reality, there are an infinte amount of them. However, the problem is that they are presented to us in such a way that the liberties that are within our grasp suddenly become too costly to take as our own. There are examples of this in the blog post I have referred you to.
Even if somehow you're one of the lucky ones and have all these liberties layed out in front of you with no apparent consequences or backhand payments, it is pretty much guaranteed that you will be criticized, ostracized, or something in between, for the choice that you make.
I know that the poor poor petty human race just HATES to be excluded or looked down upon. Too bad, eh? It's either freedom and possible loneliness or conformity and enslavement. I choose the former, mostly because I have lived for so long outside the "norm" of society that I know how to play the system at its roots and know how to quickly create the strings I need to remain inside the social picture. Kinda hard to explain, but I hope you get it, I really do.
I'll go off to do my long overdue English homework now on a lighter note. The only lighter note that there is exists within the framework you choose to live your life in. Godspeed and good luck to all of you in breaking out of your shell(s), bud.

Yes, the ideal "America" that everyone wishes it to be is that we can do whatever we want, and all the bad people aren't even existant. We're all the ideal family in an identical neighborhood where no one can kill each other because no one really wants to.

If we're REALLY the land of the free, when why do we have rules for everything? Regarding Syn's reference to Prop 8, it's complete bullshit. If we're really able to do whatever we please, then why the hell don't we? Because of how we're supposed to keep a "civil society".
Are we really free? Do we really live in a place where we can do whatever we want?
Of course not! We have rules for everything!
If we were really in the land of the free, gay marrage would be allowed, because we're allowed to do whatever we want.
If we were really in the land of the free, we would be able to smoke weed, sniff coke, and cross over borders whenever we want.
If we were really in the land of the free, then the 9/11 bombings would be okay, because we can do whatever we want.
Now, I'm not stupid enough to say that the 9/11 bombings were okay. This is the point. We're so misled when we were young into believing that "America is great" and "America is the land of the free, home of the brave" and "America - a TRUE Democracy". Even adults are being misled that their vote actually counts! I mean seriously!
We are so fucking misled that we really have no freedom. The government creates this random utopia in our minds that America is perfect because we can do "whatever we want."
In reality, we can do "whatever we want as long as it's in the law, and if I say you can, and if the justice system doesn't fuck you up again, and only on weekdays Monday through Thursday 12 ~ 1."
We're living in a society where we're the blind sheep and the government is the "Almighty corrupted shepherd".

Liberty is an idea the divides the free from the enslaved. Liberty is idea that lives within everyone as a form of freedom that can never be stripped from our bodies. Liberty is that faint light that pierces through that strange darkness that encloses around each individual with its echoes of non-liberal speeches and phrases. And yet, what is liberty over all? Is it something that we can use our five senses for? Liberty is the warmth of a mother's arms because we use liberty as a form of protection like we would as a child wanting their mother for protection.
Liberty is our protection and yet, people don't see it as one. To them, it is rights that are achieved and can be seen on a daily basis like the freedom of speech. But isn't liberty also protection? What we say can be used against us but it can also be used as a shield to have people find new reasons. Yet, wouldn't freedom and liberty run hand in hand with one another?
Sure, freedom is on the basis of liberty but it has its differences. I see them the same though because to me, liberty is freedom. Liberty grants us rights, as is mentioned earlier, those rights grants us freedom but because of how blind we are, maybe blinder than love, we neglect to find the common ground. It's strange how liberty is our mother when I think about it. We want it and we do get it now and then but liberty is not always there to help us.
I wonder if a pack of sheep could illustrate the idea of liberty but it doesn't cover the context of liberty that I know to understand within myself. That freedom is universal and everyone has it no matter how odd or grim the situation may be. Slaves during the slave times, didn't even think that they had any freedom but in fact, they do. They had the freedom to think. They had the freedom to eat when served. They even had the freedom to talk but that freedom was limited. The only freedom they didn't have is to be liberal, to be able to live ones own life. We don't have that today but we do make best with what we have. Laws can be by passed by any form of action but the action is risky like escaping as slaves.
Freedom and liberty is one. Freedom is given to us as a right. Liberty is what we see freedom as. Our lives are slave lives but under better circumstances. And yet, it continues to plauge me. When will I get my liberty from a world that chains me to the ground? When will any of us ever be satisfied with the liberty that we are given by our forefathers? I know when I will get my liberty though but the cost of that action is very severe. Yes, a little too severe for the delicate future.

It's Blader, back with yet another blog. Whoop-de-doo. This one, however, is a partnership with a fellow friend, whom will remain unnamed until he wishes to reveal himself.
This is yet another opinionated blog, in which we'll be revealing our opinions to the mortal world in which you live in. If my partner wishes to add more things, he may. Note that although this is a partnership, we have differing views on differing problems, so we will have a simple rule during our differing opinions. One cannot delete anything the partner says, no matter how stupid the view is, but one may include his views in a paragraph or ten underneath his partner's and state how the partner's opinions are screwed up.
A.k.a no deleting anything. Simple as that. Of course, that is IF we have differing views.
Whether we decide to add more writers, we will introduce them, although that will be rather rare.
Of course, he and I have differing schedules, so we will critique the world or whatever when we are able to, or when we please. If we go into any sort of hiatus, any readers will be notified. Check back regularly.
I'm sure that you will rather enjoy the clash that me, as a demimortal, and my partner, as a demon, have.

Hello, good uhh...citizens of the "normal." Synhyborex (a.k.a. Syn) here. Finally got the time to add to my good friend Blader's supposed "intro" of our joint blog here.
Actually, I do not believe there IS much to add. He covered most of it, and all that was left was for me to reveal myself, apparently, so here I am, showing my face (hardly, since you can't see me) to all of our readers. I just realized that stupid Blogspot automatically changed my font and size. What a horrid occurrence.
Anyway, the disclaimer is well-done, if not for a few typos, but, that aside, let me add that if you have any hate mail for me, email me at synhyborex@yahoo.com and I will try to respond to your email as soon as possible, given my hectic daily schedule.
